Lower Leg

• • Medial incision is one figer breadth posterior to medial edge of the tibia for posterior deep and posterior superficial compartments.

    • preserve saphenous vein

    • Open fascia above superficial posterior compartment.

    • Remove soleus muscle fibers from tibia to enter deep posterior compartment (can identify neurovascular bundle).

  • Lateral incision is one finger breadth anterior to fibulafor anterior and lateral compartments.

    • Identify intercompartment septum.

    • Open fascia in "H" type incision to open both compartments.
